The Graduation Ceremony of the Second Trimester of the Army War College was held on 6 August 2022 at the College Auditorium. The Commandant of Army War College, Brigadier YABM Yahampath RWP RSP psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with the Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, Head of the Academic Wing, members of the Directing Staff and Permanent Staff where the student officers of Senior Command Course 5, Junior Command Course 24 that included a foreign student officer from Bangladesh and Junior Staff Course 22 were awarded with certificates.

Major General UUKLS Perera RWP RSP USP psc, the Commandant Army War College officially handed over duties on 14 July 2022 prior to his retirement from Sri Lanka Army, after rendering 34 years of unblemished, devoted and an exemplary service to the nation and the army. In his farewell speech, the Commandant conveyed his heartfelt gratitude for all Officers and Other Ranks for the support extended during his tenure at the College. With the aim of enhancing the camaraderie in search of exercise associated with a mixture of athleticism and sociability of the Student Officers of Senior Command Course 5, Junior Command Course 24 and Junior Staff Course 22, the second Hash Run in the year 2022 was successfully conducted on 25 June 2022.

The Junior Command Course 24 dominated the second Cricket Tournament of Army War College held on 28 May 2022. Team C of Junior Command Course captained by Major Gayan Kaburugamuwa became the champions of the tournament and team B of Junior Command Course 24 led by Major Tharinda Adhikari became the runners up.

The Army War College commenced the second set of courses for year 2022 with a short yet a notable opening ceremony on 02 May 2022. Under three separate courses namely Senior Command Course (SCC), Junior Command Course (JCC) and Junior Staff Course, 145 Student Officers in total, have reported to the College in order to undergo respective training Courses.

The A Team of JCC 23 led by Captain Pubudu Rathnayake became the champions of the Basketball Tournament by defeating the A Team of SCC 4 led by Major Harsha Wickramanayake at the finals held at the College Basketball Court on 29 March 2022. The final score was 67 - 41.
