The defence delegation of Nigeria headed by Major General SO Olabanji, Director of Nigerian Army Training and Doctrine Command made a visit to Army War College (AWC), Buttala on Thursday (08) as a part of their five-day familiarization tour in Sri Lanka. Brigadier UKDDP Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant, Army War College warmly welcomed the visiting Delegation at the Headquarters premises of AWC.

The e-version of the transcript that comprises the speeches and panel discussions of ‘Army War College Symposium 2022’ for Battalion Commanders themed ‘Civil-Military Relations and Military Professionalism’ was officially launched with brief formalities on 05 June 2023 by Major General YAMB Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc the Commandant Army War College. On the instructions of the Commandant, the transcription of the symposium was compiled by the Defence Studies Branch of AWC and the process of publishing the printed copies in consultation with the Dte of Trg is in progress.

Team No 02 of JCC 27 outplayed DS Team No 01 in the final match of the second trimester Cricket Tournament held at Army War College playground on 29 May 2023. Twelve teams including three teams from the permanent staff and nine teams from the Student Officers: two teams from SCC 08, five teams from JCC 27 and two teams from JSC 24 played for almost three weeks to reach the finals. Winning the semi-finals Team No 02 of JCC 27 and DS Team No 01 were qualified for the grand finals.

The Army War College (AWC) began the second trimester with the commencement of Senior Command Course 8, Junior Command Course 27 and Junior Staff Course 24 on 04 May 2023. Brigadier Manada Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, the Commandant of AWC delivered the Opening Address and marked the commencement of the second trimester of the AWC academic programme.
