    A team of Defence Attachés accredited to Sri Lanka were welcomed by Major General PS Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc, the Commandant Army War College Buttala and hosted a meet and greet session for the distinguished guests whilst on their way back to Colombo after visiting south eastern areas of Sri Lanka on 21 October 2025.

  • STUDENT OFFICERS OF ARMY WAR COLLEGE PAID AN EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO THE SRI LANKA MILITARY ACADEMY

    Student Officers from the Senior Command Course 15 (SCC 15), comprising 51 Senior Student Officers, Junior Command Course 34 (JCC 34), comprising 70 Student Officers, and Junior Staff Course 30 (JSC 30), comprising 30 Student Officers, currently undergoing training at the Army War College (AWC) Buttala, embarked on an educational study visit to the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), Diyatalawa on 19 October 2025. The visit was organised as part of the course curriculum to enhance and refresh knowledge related to key military drills and procedures of the Sri Lanka Army.

  • JUNIOR COMMAND COURSE 34 CONCLUDES EXERCISE ‘SILVER SHIELD’

The exercise, which ran from 13 October 2025, focused on translating theoretical knowledge into practical military strategies.

    As part of its ongoing commitment to developing intellectually agile and operationally competent leaders, the Army War College conducted a study visit to Colombo for the Student Officers of Senior Command Course (SCC) 15. The delegation, headed by Major General PS Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc, Commandant of the Army War College, along with the Chief Instructor, Senior Instructor of the Senior Command Wing, Faculty members, and 51 Student Officers, embarked on this academic engagement on 15 and 16 October 2025. The study visit aimed to broaden the officers’ understanding of joint, interagency, and strategic-level functions vital to future command responsibilities.
