Student Officers of Senior Command Course 9 (SCC) undergoing training at Army War College (AWC) Buttala made an educational visit to Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) Diyatalawa on 28 October 2023. The visit was organized as a part of curriculum of the course in studding and enhancing of knowledge in military traditions and customary practices within an absolute learning environment.

Colonel MDSN Karunarathne psc assumed duties as the Chief Instructor of Army War College on 11 October 2023 following a sequence of events as the third Chief Instructor after the elevation of Officer Career Development Centre to Army War College. A simple ceremony of religious observances was held to obtain blessings before symbolically taking up the appointment and the new Chief Instructor placed his signature on an official document symbolising the formal acceptance of the office at the auspicious time.

The Army War College Cricket Tournament 3/2023 was a thrilling event that showcased the talents and sportsmanship displaying skills, camaraderie and competitive spirit with a series of 12 matches played among 10 teams. The matches were scheduled in evenings allowing both players and spectators to actively participate without hampering their regular studies and duties.
