  • AWC DINERS’ CLUB INSTILLS THE FUTURE LEADERS ON PERSPECTIVES ON RESILIENCE FOR MILITARY READINESS AND PREPARATION

    The Diners' Club of the first trimester 2024 was held at the Army War College on 9 March 2024 with the participation of the Commandant, Deputy Commandant, Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors, members of the faculty and members of the permanent staff together with 113 Student Officers of the Senior Command Course – 10, Junior Command Course – 29 and Junior Staff Course - 25 including four foreign officers from friendly foreign countries, Bangladesh, India, Maldives and Zambia.

  • ARMY WAR COLLEGE DRAWN THE FIRST HASH RUN OF 2024 TO THE END

    The first Hash Run of 2024 in the event calendar of Army War College was successfully held on 10 March 2024. The event aimed to enhance the camaraderie and athleticism of Student Officers of THE Senior Command Course 10, Junior Command Course 29 and Junior Staff Course 25.

  • Army War College Marked the First Working Day of the Month

    Army War College marked the first working day on 01 March during a formal ceremony giving priority to flag hoisting, reciting of the National Anthem and the Army song.

    To coincide with the National independence day celebration proceedings at Galle Face Green in Colombo, Army War College (AWC) celebrated the 76th Independence Day commemorating of the independence gained from the British rule on 04 February 1948.

  • ARMY WAR COLLEGE CRICKET TOURNAMENT TUSSLED ON THE PITCH CONCLUDES

    The Army War College Cricket Tournament 1/2024 was one of the exhilarating events that showcased the talents and sportsmanship displaying skills, camaraderie and competitive spirit with a series of 15 matches played among 14 teams. Matches were scheduled in evenings allowing both players and spectators to actively participate without obstructing their regular studies and duties.

  • DURUTU POYA DAY PROGRAMME INVOKES BLESSINGS FOR ARMY WAR COLLEGE

    Student Officers of Junior Staff Course 25 (JSC) undergoing training at Army War College (AWC) Buttala Joined the ‘History Watch Exercise’ made an educational visit to places with ancient and historical value in the Uwa Province on 25 January 2024. The visit was organized as a part of curriculum of the course in studding and enhancing of knowledge in historically valuable archaeological sites to experience an absolute learning environment.

  • ARMY WAR COLLEGE INVOKED BLESSING FOR FIRST TRIMESTER PROCEEDINGS OF 2024

    Student Officers following Career Development Courses in the first trimester of the Army War College (AWC) visited Kataragama on 06 January 2024 during the Exercise God King. Continuing with the long-standing practice of the AWC and with a view to invoke blessings for the New Year 2024, all student officers, faculty members and the administrative staff members together with Deputy Commandant,Chief Instructor, Senior Instructors and the Commandant AWC Major General U K D D P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc invoked the blessings of sacred ‘Kiriwehera’ by participating a ‘Buddha Vandana and ‘Dhamma serman’ administered by Rev Kebellaketiye Premarathna Thero, followed by the rituals at the shrine of God Katharagama.
