President Mrs. Waruni Ubayawardene and 17 members of the Provost Ladies Club of SLCMP paid a visit to Ragama Ranaviru Sewana on 27th September 2017. As per the requirement of the patients, the members donated fruits and sweets parcels for each patient and 30 clutches worth Rs:144,000/- for70 patients. The lunch was given to inmates, followed by an entertainment programme. The event was organized by SIU senior most lady Mrs.Priyanthika de Soyza, wife of the Commanding Officer of SIU, under the guidance of the Colonel Commandant - SLCMP and President, Provost Ladies Club.

President Mrs. Waruni Ubayawardene and 15 members of the Provost Ladies Club of SLCMP paid a visit to Granvil Wickramaratne Memorial Boys Home, Kelaniya on 27th August 2017. As per the requirement of the children, the members donated gift parcels containing daily utensils, school uniforms, stationery items, toys, sweets, biscuits, cricket bats and balls for all boys worth Rs: 75,600.00. A tea party and a delicious lunch were followed by an entertainment programme performed by SLCMP Calypso group for the children. The event was organized by 5 SLCMP, senior most ladies Mrs. Padma Rathnayake, wife of the Second in Command Officer of 5 SLCMP, with the support of the Commanding Officer of 5 SLCMP and the guidance of the President of Provost Ladies Club.

17th Annual General Meeting of Provost Ladies Club was held on 25th June 2017 with the participation of past presidents, ex senior members and 45 members. With the close supervision of Mrs. Waruni Ubayawardena - President of the Provost Ladies Club, three donations each worth Rs: 50,000.00 were given to under mentioned three soldiers under the recommendations of the Commanding Officers of their respective units for medical support and to renovate houses affected by landslides. S/676950 Sgt Wimalarathne HMR – 1 SLCMP S/677104 Sgt Wijesinghe WMIUP - 3 SLCMP S/676623 L/Cpl Jayasinha JAJD– 1 SLCMP Further, medical assistance to buy a hearing aid equipment for Mrs: Nandawathi, mother of demised soldier S/676086 Cpl Kumara VPNM – 2 SLCMP was donated Rs:25,000.00. New Office Bearers were selected for the new term. A lecture on “Positive Thinking” was conducted by Mrs. Ama Dissanayake – a training consultant on positive thinking. The event was concluded with a lunch followed by an entertainment programme and a group photograph.

A team of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Seva Vanitha Unit (SLCMP-SVU) members recently visited the inmates at Pangolla ‘Abimansala-3’ with the intention of looking into their well-being. Mrs Varuni Jinadaree Ubayawardhana, Chairperson SLCMP-SVU led the visiting team to this wellness resort. Those Seva Vanitha ladies took with them T-shirts, jackets and a few more gifts to all 41 inmates. In addition, 2 water-purifying machines, 50 tyres for wheelchairs and 42 tyre hubs were also delivered to the wellness resort on the same occasion. Similarly, 2 SLCMP battalion troops also made a donation of stationeries to the ‘Abimansala’ office for administrative work. The value of the items gifted was about Rs151,440/=. Those visiting Seva Vanitha ladies also sponsored a lunch treat for those inmates and a musical session before they left the location. SLCMP-SVU members and a few officers were associated with the visit.

The newly appointed President Mrs. Waruni Ubayawardene, Vice President Mrs.Sumali Madola and members of the Provost Ladies Club of SLCMP paid a visit to “Abhimansala”, Pangolla on 27 May 2017. As per the requirement of the patients, the members donated fruits and gift parcels containing t-shirt and jacket each worth total of Rs:151,440/= for 41 patients. Further two pureit water filters worth Rs: 18,900/=, 50 tyres and 42 tyre tubes worth 45,050/= for the wheel chairs of the patients, a stationary parcel worth Rs: 9450/= to make handcrafts were donated to the Commandant of the Abhimansala. A delicious lunch was followed by an entertainment programme for the disabled war heroes. The event was organized by 2 SLCMP, senior most lady Mrs.Mohana Ekanayake, wife of the Commanding Officer of 2 SLCMP, under the guidance of the President, Provost Ladies Club

The monthly meeting of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Seva Vanitha Unit (SLCMP-SVU) was held recently at the officers' mess in the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Regimental Headquarters at Polhengoda, chaired by Mrs. Manthree Koswattha. On the same occasion, two special monetary donations were given away to two differently able personnel as mentioned below Mr. K.P Nadun De Silva, a brother of Lance Corporal K.I.N Silva and a disable civil employee in the Army. The meeting was organized by the 7 SLCMP SVU.

Members of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police - Seva Vanitha Unit (SLCMP-SVU) visited the Abhimansala - I at Anuradhapura and met the inmates on August 28. The visit was organized by the 5 SLCMP on the directions of Mrs Shirani Udawatta, Chairperson, SLCMP-SVU. Mrs Shirani Udawatta was warmly welcomed offering a sheaf of betel by an inmate of the Abhimansala - I. During the visit, 40 inmates including 2 officers and 38 other ranks received gift parcels and fruit bags each. Meanwhile, the chairperson gave away two water purifiers to the place for use.

The 16th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) was held at its regimental Centre, Polhengoda with the participation of former Chairpersons, past senior members and other members of the SVU on June 26. Mrs Shirani Udawatta, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police Seva Vanitha Unit (SLCMP-SVU) graced the occasion as the chief guest. Three donations, each worth Rs 200,000/= were given to three soldiers to build their houses under the recommendation of Commanding Officers of three respective units before commencement of the meeting. After the meeting, Mrs Loretta Gunawardena, a Corporate Training consultant on professional skills conducted a lecture on ‘Social Etiquettes’. The event was preceded by a lunch treat and followed by an entertainment programme plus a group photograph.

Mrs Shirani Udawatta, Chairperson, Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) and members of the Provost Seva Vanitha Unit of the SLCMP visited Roslin Fernando Elders’ Home, Kottawa to coincide with the Vesak Poya. A Dhamma sermon was conducted by Ven. Vataththayaye Jinawansa Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Kottawa ‘Mihindu’ Buddhist Center for the inmates, followed by provision of lunch for 50 elders at Roslin Fernando Elders’ Home. The SLCMP – SVU members donated gift packs including necessary items to each adult and donated bulbs worth of Rs 70,000 to lighten up for Vesak too. The programme was organized under the guidance of Lieutenant Colonel A. M. A Deshapriya, Commanding Officer (CO), 4 SLCMP.
