Two remarkable pieces of writing composed by Major EAAS Chaminda SLAGSC, Chief Editor, 'Ranaviruwa' magazine of the Army at Directorate of Psychological Operations were conferred Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda ndc IG, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) on 03 June 2021 at the Headquarters SLAVF. Major Sujith Chaminda, a Volunteer Officer having groomed by the prestigious Sri Lanka Army and demarcating his existence as a journalist ″ Maranaya Medin Mullaittivu Sita" and ″Avi Bimaka Giniyama" were published streamlining of the military literature which is rarely subjected for aesthetic appreciation.

Making a new stride towards the construction of new camp premises, Major General K N S Kotuwegoda ndc IG Commandant – Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force laid the foundation stone for construction of the entrance of the new Headquarters premises of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force in Seethawaka on 02 June 2021. Prior to the event, the first sod of soil for the new entrance was cut by the senior officer at the auspicious minute marking its inauguration.

Accrediting due respect and salutation towards the oldest and the first Battalion in the Sri Lanka Army (then Ceylon Volunteer), Major General K N S Kotuwegoda ndc IG, the Commandant - SLAVF made his first formal visit to 2nd Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry on 23 March 2021 upon his assuming office as the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.
