Produce leaders who are capable of decisive action in the operational and non-operational environments is mandatory requirement of all armies; Hence, knowing the way of lead soldiers through balancing the challenges of extreme ownership to lead and win is utmost important. In order to accomplish this prime objective, Major General D GS Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu , the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force conducted a lecture on Dichotomy of Leadership for the senior officers and senior Non Commissioned officers of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force on Friday (2nd December 2022) at Conference Hall.
During his lecture, he elaborated diverse definitions of leadership, taught by the prestigious military training establishments in the county and other countries and he stated keywords which are used to define the leadership. Further, he explained type of followers, methods of influencing subordinates to achieve a common goal in the organization and dual nature of leader and subordinates.
At the end of the lecture, the gathering had the opportunity of interacting with the Commandant by way of questions and clarifications during the question and answer session. Moreover, the Senior Non Commissioned Officers verbally given their feedback on the lecture.
