Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (HQ SLAVF) under the guidance and directions of Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General C D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu conducted Brigadier/ Colonel Coordinating Officers’ and Liaison Officers’ Conference on 20 January 2022 at the Headquarters premises. The conference was chaired by the Commandant with the participation of the Deputy Commandant, the Principal Staff Officer, all branch heads and Senior Officers of the HQ SLAVF. All Brigadier/ Colonel Coordinating Officers under the Formation Headquarters and LOs of all the Regiments were present at the conference.

Heralding the dawn of the New Year 2022, the Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force marked the beginning of the year 2022 along with the inspiration of glory and prosperous for the organization as well as the country. The military formalities customized upon the New Year Celebrations were unfolded presided by Major General C D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, the Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

Major General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the 47th Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force relinquished his appointment as Commandant SLAVF in a simple ceremony on 08 December 2021 in order to take up his new responsibilities as the Chief of Staff, one of the most prestigious appointments in the Sri Lanka Army.

Glorifying the celebrations of the 118th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Training School, Diyathalawa, the ‘SIX IN ONE MALL’ Multi Facility Welfare Complex, established in the Training School premises, was inaugurated on 05 December 2021 by Major General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force at the invitation of Colonel H A Keerthinatha RSP KSP psc the Commandant of the SLAVFTS.

In line with the greenery concept of Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhil, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF) launched a mammoth tree planting and tree distribution programme at the Headquarters premises of SLAVF under the direction and guidance of Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Major General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu and contribution of Deputy Commandant of the SLAVF Major General Christy Jayasinghe KSV KSP together with the ‘Husmak Sitawamu’ Project - Stage 3 of the District 306 A2 Lions Club on 03 December 2021.
