Abiding by the directions and effectuation of General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Head, NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, troops of 52 Infantry Division in Jaffna has established one more Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) at Navatkuli under the close supervision of Commander, Security Force Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu.
Under the supervision of Commander Security Force Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Jaffna troops facilitated Senior Citizens to draw their monthly pensions by providing them necessary transport and other assistance to walk up to Banks and Post Office on 10th June and 11th June 2021.
Troops of 551 Infantry Brigade organized and distributed dry ration packs among widow families and self-quarantined families of Rajagamam village in Karaveddy, Jaffna today (05 June 2021). Commander 551 Infantry Brigade and Commanding Officer 4th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, acting on instructions of Major General Sisira Pilapitiya RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division, coordinated and arranged 200 packs of dry rations and drinking water at this hour of need for the people in the village with financial assistance from Mr Sathyadasan from Denmark and Sellamuthus Textiles, Nelliady.

Giving a boost to the Army-Improvising Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) at Navatkuli, the management of Ceylon Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) donated 100 number of beds to the Army for use in case of any emergency, on Tuesday, 1 June 2021.
The construction of the Navatkuli Intermediate Care Centre comprising of 300 bed capacity was initiated few weeks ago by the Security Force Jaffna on the direction of General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc MPhill, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.
Mr. A Pushparaja, the Chief Operation Engineer and Mr. A Sathayadashan, Senior Operation Engineer of the Ceylon Engineering Consultancy Bureau after meeting Commander Security Force (Jaffna) and District Coordinator COVID - 19 Control and Prevention of Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu at Navatkuli ICC premises symbolically handed over one such bed. Further, Commander Security Force (Jaffna) appreciated the company's concern towards the ICC facility needed and thanked Mr. A Pushparaja and A Sathayadashan.
A formal military ceremony with a guard turnout awarded for the newly promoted General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division, Major General WHKS Peiris RWP RSP USP ndu with the imposed health guidelines and followed by planting of a saplingon 29 May 2021 at 52 Infantry Division premises in Mirisuvil. Commanders of 521, 522 and 523 infantry brigades and limited no of Officers were participated for the ceremony.
Inoculating of the first dose of Sinopharm vaccines for general public of Jaffna District was successfully carried out by Army Medical Teams and troops of 4th Sri Lanka Medical Corps (SLMC) troops in close co-operation with Medical Officers of Health (MOH) and health providers of the respective MOH area of Jaffna District throughout Monday (30) May 2021.
This programe was launched at the government - organized vaccination centres of Chankanai, Chavakachcheri, Jaffna MC, Karainagar, Karaveddy, Kopay, Nallur, Point Pedro, Sandilippay, Tellippalai and Velanai following the health guidelines. On a suggestion made by Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna), troops of 4th Battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment donated Dry Ration Packs to underprivileged families who live in the general area Allarai.
This donation program was launched on the Vesak Full Moon Day, Wednesday 26 May 2021 by the visionary guidance of the Commander 523 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Nishshanka Samaradiwakara RSP USP. Further, this program was conducted adhering to strict health guidelines as a Community Oriented Project. This donation was highly commended by the general public live in the area.
A Quick Reaction Special Rider Team from the 7th Battalion of Women’s Corps was established on the instruction of Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu and under the supervision of Commanding Officer 7th Battalion of Women’s Corps Major Rashmi Galhena on Tuesday 25 May 2021.
This Special Women Corps Quick Reaction Rider Team was initiated to operate in an emergency situation and to assist for COVID-19 prevent and controlling process. Today, they commenced their first ever operation covering populous Jaffna city and its surburb.
