Abiding by the directions and effectuation of General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Head, NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, troops of 52 Infantry Division in Jaffna has established one more Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) at Navatkuli under the close supervision of Commander, Security Force Jaffna, Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu.
This Intermediate Care Centre has been established for the compassionate purpose of treating and facilitating patients who tested COVID-19 positive. It is pertinent to notice that this care facility is fully fledged and has two hundred COVID patients accommodating capacity. The ICC is inaugurated in order to provide the much required facilities in addressing the adverse effects of the COVID - 19 pandemic which has caused devastation to not just our nation, but the whole world. The initial edifice utilized for the purpose of this establishment had been partially constructed, hence it was renovated and developed within a short period of one month, in a manner which complements the necessities of the facility.
The fully pledged Intermediate Care Centre was officially handed over to Health Authorities on 15 June 2021. This courteous occasion was graced by Mr. Kanapathypillai Mahesan, GA Jaffna, Dr. Sivaganesh Subramaniam - Regional Epidemiologist - RDHS, Jaffna, Dr. A Ketheeswaran, Regional Director of Health Services, Director of Teaching Hospital Jaffna, Divisional Commanders of 51, 52, and 55, Brigadier General Staff, Brigadier Admin and Quartering and Senior Officers.
