Newly Enlisted Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim Recruits in Jaffna were Addressed by The Commander Security Force (Jaffna)

The Commander Security Force (Jaffna), Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu made a observatory visit to the Battalion Training School, Vidaththalpalai on Wednesday 05 May 2021. On arrival, the visiting Commander, Security Force (Jaffna) was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division, Brigadier Harendra Peiris RWP RSP USP ndu.

Foreign Employees Proceeding Home After Government Quarantine Process

A number of 245 foreign employees and students flew from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, Lebanon, Italy, Dubai, Malaysia, Korea, Hong Kong, Madagascar, Canada, Iraq, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Rumenia, Turkey and Australia set off to their homes after completing two - week quarantine process at Vasavilan Quarantine Centre in Jaffna, on Monday, 03 May 2021. Having gone through the required quarantine procedures, they were awarded with quarantine certificates by General Officer Commanding 52 Infantry Division, Brigadier Harendra Peiris RWP RSP USP ndu. Soon after the awarding of certificates personnel who underwent the quarantine process appreciated the commitment and dedication of the army troops at Vasavillan Quarantine Centre.

The quarantined people were segregated according to their respective residential locations and provided necessary transport facilities to reach their destinations in, Aluthgama, Batticaloa, Negombo, Kurunegala, Beliatta, Nuwara Eliya, Chilaw, and chunnakam. Further, they were provided with packeted meals, snacks, water bottle, before commencing their journey.

Covid - 19 Awareness Programme

On the instructions of General Officer Commanding 55 Infantry Division and Commander 551 Infantry Brigade, COVID - 19 awareness programmes were conducted at Point Pedro by the troops of 16th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry on Thursday 29 April 2021 and Manthikai by the troops of 4th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment on Friday 30 April 2021. The intention of the launching such programmes were to aware the general public of the area on prevention of COVID - 19 by following proper health guidelines including wearing of face marks, maintain social distance to control the spread of new variant of the virus. These Programmes were conducted focusing the civilians who visited the Manthikai commercial complex, hospital and Point Pedro town during busy hours. As an encouragement, face masks were distributed among civilians.

Commander Security Force (Jaffna) Makes His First Visit to Forward Maintenance Area (North) & Logistic Units

Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) on arrival at HQ Forward Maintenance Area (North) was received by Colonel Forward Maintenance Area, Colonel Dhammika Thilakarathna RSP. The visiting Commander Security Force (Jaffna) planted a mango sapling to mark his visit to the Forward Maintenance Area (North). Subsequently, Commander Security Force (Jaffna) posed for a group photograph with all Commanding Officers of Logistics Units and the Staff of the HQ Forward Maintenance Area (North). Later, he addressed the troops and joined all ranks tea before visiting the premises.

A Community Relation Campaign in Puttur Area

Roadside clearance program had been conducted in Polikkandy and Atchchuveli areas in Jaffna District, as part of a community relation campaign to control the recurring dengue mosquito menace and Parthenium plant. The community-oriented project was carried out on the directions of the commander - 521 Infantry Brigade. Further, this program was conducted by troops of 11th Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and general public in the area with the help of Valvettithurai Municipal Council and Puttur Pradeshiya Sabha on Tuesday 27 April 2021

Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) to Commences its First Ever Recruit Training Course to be Conducted in Jaffna

With the aim of transform recruits into professional soldiers and make them physically, mentally and morally fit to face the future challenges first ever recruit training course started at Battalion Training School Vidaththalpalai, Jaffna on Tuesday 27 April 2021. This recruit training course was originated as a concept of the Commander of the Army under the first phase of recruitment of 20000 soldiers for the year 2021 under the objectives set by ‘Sri Lanka Army Way Forward Strategy’. Further this training was directed by the Commander Security Force (Jaffna) Major General Priyantha Perera RWP RSP ndu. This batch comprised of 359 recruits from Sinhala, Tamil and Muslims communities. The course is scheduled from 27 April 2021 to 27 August 2021 under the supervision of 52 Infantry Division and Security Force (Jaffna).

Food and Lunch Packet Distribution Program of the 51 Infantry Division

As suggested by Major General Priyantha Perera, the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) and with the visionary guidance of the General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Troops of the Headquarters of the 51 Infantry Division organized a dry ration and lunch packet distribution program on Monday the 26th April 2021 to coincide with the Bak Pura Pasaloswaka Poya Day.

Social Care Project carried out by the Troops of the 51 Infantry Division at Kopay, Jaffna

Troops of the Headquarters of 51 Division serving under the Security Force headquarters Jaffna organized a series of road cleaning programs aiming Dengue prevention, Parthenium Hysteropaorus eradication and prevention of road accident which is abundance in the area due to dense vegetation over grown covering part of the roads in the peninsula. This particular action carried out by 100 soldiers covering part of the minor road running from Thirunelvely to Navathkiri.
