As per the guidance of Colonel HAI Perera RWP RSP USP, Commander 521 Infantry Brigade, gifted 20 dry ration packs (each worth of Rs 5000.00) to selected underprivileged expectant mothers and families. This donation programme was held at 521 Infantry Brigade Headquarter premises on 14th January 2023.

The most revered Galigamuwe Gnanapradeepa Thero gave an inspiring and motivating Dhamma discourse to Officers and Other Ranks of the 55 Infantry Division in the evening of 10 January 2023. The Thero has a stellar reputation as wise priest, who devoted himself to the betterment of society through the preaching of the Dhamma.

513 Infantry Brigade successfully completed another humanitarian intervention once again and extended their technical, engineering and manpower support to build a new house to encourage a Player, who brought laurels to Victoria Collage Chullipuram, Jaffna. The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota graced the house warming ceremony and handed over the keys of the new house to Mrs. Selwarasa Kiristiga, who is a member of Under 19 Women’s National Cricket Squad on 06 January 2023.

The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota , made official visit to HQ Forward Maintenance Area (North) and its under command Logistic Units on 03 January 2023.

Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) on arrival at HQ Forward Maintenance Area (North) was received by Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North), Brigadier Clifford Zoysa. The Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) planted a mango sapling to mark his visit to the Forward Maintenance Area (North). Subsequently, he posed for a group photograph with all Commanding Officers of Logistics Units and the Staff of the HQ Forward Maintenance Area (North). Later, he addressed the troops and participated for All Ranks Tea.

A timely essential community programme was initiated in the area of Nagarkovil, Wadamarachchi East DS Division under the patronage of General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne on 01 January 2023, the New Year Day. To evoke blessing for the people in the area, a kovil pooja was organized at the most ancient Hindu kovil in Nagarkovil followed by a donation of dry ration packs to extremely necessitous people of 30 families each worth of Rs: 10,000.00 approximately. The Donation was received under the blessing of Miss Anaya Koswatta, who is residing in United State of America at present.

The Security Forces Headquarters (Jaffna) with the dawn of year 2023, the Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota and All Ranks commenced duties for the New Year following military traditions on the 02 January 2023.

Major General Swarna Bothota, the newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces (Jaffna) made his maiden visits to 51, 52 and 55 Infantry Divisions during 28, 29 and 30 December 2022.

With the intention of promoting good relations and understanding the newly-appointed Commander Security Forces (Jaffna), Major General Swarna Bothota paid homage to Nagadeepa Temple, Naga Viharaya Temple, Bishop of Jaffna and Nallur Kovil to receive blessings of the deities.

The 51 Infantry Division initiated another community - related programme on Christmas day by distributing gifts and sweets for children at various churches in Jaffna. The event was initiated by Major General Mahendra Fernando, former General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division with the guidance of Major General Chandana Wijayasundara, former Commander Security Forces (Jaffna) and under the supervision of General Officer Commanding 51 Infantry Division, Major General Wajira Welagedara.
