ORGANIZING A SPORTS TRAINING CAMP FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN

241 Brigade of 24 Division in the AOR of Security Force (East), organized a sports training camp for school children and for the members of the sports clubs in Ampara area in liaison with Zonal Educational Office Ampara. This training camp was held at the School grounds of DS Senanayake Vidyalaya Ampara for two days commencing from 04 June 2015. About 465 school children representing 68 schools, 09 persons representing 02 sports clubs and 46 teachers also took part in two days sports training camp.

BASIC COMPUTER COURSE FOR OFFICERS AND ORS IN SFHQ (EAST) AREA

Basic Computer Course No 3 for the year 2015 commenced on 3rd July 2015 at Security Forces Headquarters (East) in association with the Orient Academy Limited, for the officers and Other Ranks serving in the area of Security Forces (East). The Opening address was delivered by Colonel W T W G Ihalage RWP RSP psc, Colonel General Staff of Security Forces Headquarters (East). The Computer Course will be conducted for 21 x working days with a view to develop the Computer Literacy of the Officers and Soldiers serving in Security Forces East area.

ORGANIZING A MEDICAL CLINIC

23rd Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment located at Sengamuwa under the 242 Brigade of 24 Division in the AOR of Security Forces (East), organized a medical clinic for retired, deceased/disabled army personnel and civilians in the area. In parallel to the above programme distribution of dry ration packets among 105 x pregnant mothers and distribution of 50 x pairs of spectacles among 50 x civilians also were organized by the 23rd Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regt Residents of Lahugala, Pothuvil, Komari, and Urani were benefited under this programme which conducted on 16th July 2015.
