  • MAJOR GENERAL VIKUM LIYANAGE ASSUMES DUTIES AS THE COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (CENTRAL)

    Giving prominence to religious observances, Major General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu assumed the Office as the Commander Security Forces (Central) at an auspicious time scheduled on 09 July 2021. All the senior officers, officers and other ranks of Security Force Headquarters (Central) and under command Divisions, Brigades and Battalions welcomed the new Commander. The customary guard turnout was accorded by the troops of 10 Gajaba Regiment. The new Commander planted a Na tree sapling at the camp premises marking his assumption of duties and participated in the all rank tea following his inaugural address to the troops of the headquarters

  • TROOPS SALUTES OUTGOING COMMANDER OF SF HQ (CENTRAL)

    A Guard Turnout offered by troops of 23 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment in accordance with military traditions to the outgoing Commander Security Force (Central) Major General NR Lamahewage RWP RSP ndu at the Security Force Headquarters (Central) on 07 July 2021.

  • OPENING CEREMONY OF THE NEWLY CONSTRUCTED CAFETERIA OF SECURITY FORCES HEADQUARTERS (CENTRAL)

    Opening ceremony of the newly constructed cafeteria of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) was held on 12 June 2021 at 1055 hrs. The Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Central) Major General N R Lamahewage RWP RSP ndu graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participate in this occasion.

  • CHIEF OF STAFF OFFICIALLY VISITS BASE HOSPITAL PALLEKELE AND ARMY HOCKEY GROUND

    The Chief of Staff Major General G H A S Bandra RWP RSP ndu officially visited Base Hospital Pallekele and Army Hockey Ground which is located in 11 Infantry Division area on 07 June 2021. Commander Security Force (Central) Major General N R Lamahewage RWP RSP ndu, GOC of 11 Infantry Division, Major General K Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Brigade Commanders and other Senior Officers participated in this occasion.

  • ANOTHER ICC AT NUWARAELIYA

    The view of responding to the sudden emergence of new positive cases of COVID -19 in relation to the 3rd wave while strengthening the capacity of the health care system, the government Building owned by Thondaman Cultural Centre - Ramboda, Nuwara Eliya was recently improvised as an Intermediate Care Center (ICC). It is expected to accommodate 275 patients (275-Beds) at any given time in addition to National Youth Corps - Kande-ela, Meepilimana (150-Beds) and Divisional Hospital - Walapane (87-Beds), National Institutes of Plantation Management- Bagawanthalawa (146-Beds) and Town Hall - Nuwara Eliya (500-Beds) ICCs in Nuwara Eliya District to meet the emerging health care demands of Central Province.

  • SLTB BUILDING (OLD GARMENT BUILDING) IN BADULLA TURNED IN TO AN ICC

    In the view of responding to the sudden emergence of new positive cases of COVID-19 in relation to the 3rd wave while strengthening the capacity of the health care system, the land of old garment building owned by Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Bus Depot - Badulla was recently improvised as an Intermediate Care Center (ICC). This ICC is expected to accommodate 260 patients (260-Beds) at any given time in addition to Bindunuwewa (220-Beds) and Kahagolla (240-Beds) ICCs in Badulla District to meet the emerging health care demands of UVA Province.

  • NUWARAELIYA TOWN HALL BUILDING TURNED IN TO AN ICC

    The commander Security Forces (Central) Major Genaral N R Lamahewage RWP RSP ndu made an inspection visit ln Nuwaraeliya on 18 May 2021. During the visit the Commander handed over the ICC at Nuwaraeliya stadium to the health authorities with the capacity of 500 beds to treat the patients in the event of any increase of COVID 19 patients in future. The construction was able to complete withing 7 days of time with the collaboration of the Army troops at 112 Infantry Brigade and 3 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment , GA Nuwaraeliya - Mr Nandana Galaboda, RDHS - Dr M N S Manathunga, Director hospital Nuwraeliya - Dr W R M Mahendra Senevirathne, RE - Dr Madura Senevirathne, Mayor Nuwaraeliya - Mr Chandanalal Karunarathne Health Staff and the municipal council at Nuwaraeliya were also present at the occasion.

  • FOUNDATION STONE LAYING CEREMONY FOR THE OFFICERS’ MESS BUILDING OF ARMY BASE HOSPITAL

    Major General N R Lamahewage RWP RSP ndu laid the foundation stone for the New Officers’ Mess Building of Army Base Hospital on 05 May 2021 at the auspicious time. Senior Officers of SF HQ (Central), Officer Commanding of the Army Base Hospital, Officers and Other Ranks were participated in this ceremony.

  • COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (CENTRAL) OFFICIALLY VISITS THE UNDER COMMAND BATTALIONS

    The Commander Security Force (Central) Major General N R Lamahewage RWP RSP ndu, after assuming duties visited 12 infantry division area of responsibility which is under the command of Security Force Headquarters (Central). The SF Commander received the religious blessings, after the religious observances at historic Kirivehera and Kataragama Maha Devalaya.

  • NEWLY PASSED OUT RECRUITS FOR VOLUNTEER FORCE

    One hundred and eighty eight (188) new recruits of Recruit Course No. 79 passed out in an impressive ceremonial military parade on 23 March 2021 at the SLAVFTS upon completion of their intense four months basic recruit training.
