The 6 Field Engineer Regiment of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers had the distinct honor of hosting the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, on an official visit to the Regiment on 12 March 2026.
Upon arrival at the main entrance, A ceremonial drive-pass, conducted in accordance with military traditions, set a dignified tone for the day’s proceedings. Thereafter visiting dignitary was warmly received by the Commanding Officer of the 6 Field Engineer Regiment, together with senior officers of the unit.
Following the formal welcome, the Colonel Commandant proceeded to the Sappers' Mess. Subsequently Colonel Commandant addressed all ranks. During his address, he commended the officers and sappers for their unwavering professionalism, technical expertise, and the vital role they play in fulfilling the engineering and operational responsibilities of the Corps. He underscored the importance of discipline, technical mastery, and teamwork, reminding all ranks of their noble duty in supporting national development and military excellence.
In keeping with the traditions of the Corps, the visiting dignitary joined all ranks for a tea at the Corporals' Club. This provided an informal yet engaging setting for professional dialogue and fellowship, allowing the Colonel Commandant to inquire into the welfare of the troops and offer words of encouragement for their continued commitment.
The visit continued at the Officers' Mess, where a group photograph was taken with the Chief of Staff and the officers of the regiment, capturing a memorable moment of pride and unity. This was followed by a session of cordial interaction with the officers, where the Colonel Commandant shared his vision and discussed matters of professional interest.
Prior to his departure, Major General D K S K Dolage signed the Visitors’ Book at the Officers' Mess, leaveing his remarks as a testament to the regiment’s dedicated service and steadfast devotion to duty. The visit concluded as the Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant departed the premises, leaving the troops of the 6 Field Engineer Regiment inspired to continue upholding the proud traditions and professional ethos of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
