VISIT OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY AND COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS TO THE 11 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, paid an official visit to the 11 Field Engineer Regiment on 25 October 2025.

Upon arrival, Major General D K S K Dolage was warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel D M R C Dunusinghe psc SLE, the Commanding Officer of the 11 Field Engineer Regiment, and was accorded a drive-pass in accordance with military traditions.

To mark this significant occasion, the Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant planted a mango sapling within the regimental premises, symbolizing growth, prosperity, and continuity.

As part of the programme, the Commanding Officer and officers of the regiment conducted a comprehensive briefing on the unit’s current role and tasks, operational commitments, training, administrative and logistics matters. The Chief of Staff commended the regiment’s dedicated service and valuable contributions to the Corps and the Army, while extending his best wishes for their future endeavours.

During the visit, Major General Dolage addressed all ranks, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards of military discipline, grooming soldiers to meet future challenges, and fostering a strong bond between officers and other ranks. Drawing from his vast military experience—from ground-level command to senior leadership—he shared valuable insights and guidance with the troops.

Following his address, the Chief of Staff participated in an interactive session with all ranks, during which a formal tea was organized by the regiment, providing an opportunity for cordial interaction.

Concluding the visit, the Chief of Staff and Colonel Commandant inspected the camp area and reviewed the living standards of the soldiers. He stressed the importance of continuous improvement, discipline, and professional development to shape competent and dedicated soldiers for the future.
