The Chief Field Engineer and General Officer Commanding of Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division Major General TC Peiris RSP USP made an official visit to the 7 Field Engineer Regiment, Batuoya, Minneriya, on 10th May 2025. He was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 7 Field Engineer Regiment, Major WMAB Warnasooriya USP psc SLE and was accorded a Guard Turnout in his honour.
During his visit, Major General TC Peiris planted a sapling on the camp premises to commemorate the occasion. As well as addressed the troops on several key aspects of military service, while expressing the gravity of discipline and conduct as soldiers of the victorious Army. Subsequently, the Senior Officer visited around the camp premises and given certain instructions to ensure the welfare and security of the soldiers.
Moreover, the Commanding Officer conducted a comprehensive briefing on current status of the unit, including its roles and responsibilities, organizational structure, strength, field and plant engineer tasks and demining progress. After the briefing, Chief Field Engineer endeavoured to have a comprehensive discussion on different aspects of engineer tasks with all the officers employed at 7 Field Engineer Regiment.
Following the formal proceedings, the Chief Field Engineer and the all officers engaged in a meaningful interactive session, which was followed by a lunch. At the conclusion of the visit, the Chief Field Engineer expressed his appreciation by writing a note in the “Visitors’ Book”.
The event was further dignified by the presence along with valuable advices and directions of the Commander Plant Engineer Brigade, Colonel KASJ Kodithuwakku USP ptsc, and the visit of Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division, concluded with a appreciations of the commitments made by the unit in different engineer tasks conducted so far and instructed to achieve the high quality end state in any engineer tasks assigned to 7 Field Engineer Regiment in future.
