The Drill Instructor and Leadership Development Workshop was successfully conducted at the Regimental Centre SLE from 28th April to 6th May 2025. This comprehensive program aimed to enhance the leadership capabilities and instructional skills of senior non-commissioned officers (SNCOs) across SLE units.
A total of 34 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers representing all under-command SLE units actively participated in the workshop. The course was carefully structured to develop advanced leadership qualities, improve instructional techniques, and reinforce the principles of military discipline and professionalism.
In addition to classroom/practical sessions, the program featured interactive discussions and scenario-based leadership tasks designed to equip SNCOs with the tools needed for effective team management and instruction.
A formal gathering was held at the Regimental Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess on the evening prior to the conclusion of the workshop. The event served as a platform for camaraderie, reflection, and appreciation of the participants’ efforts.
Brigadier F Joseph USP, the Centre Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his closing address, he commended the commitment of the participants and emphasized the critical role of SNCOs in shaping the future of the Corps through leadership and discipline.
The closing ceremony highlighted the success of the program and reaffirmed the Regimental Centre’s ongoing dedication to professional development and excellence in leadership training within the Sri Lanka Engineers.
