The Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers on Monday, 02nd September 2024, at the SLE Regimental Centre in Panagoda bade heartfelt farewell to one of its exemplary Senior Officers, Major General R M M Ranasinghe WWV RWP RSP of Special Forces Regiment, who retiring from the Army after a distinguished career of more than 35 years of service.
As his mother Regiment, the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers greeted Major General R M M Ranasinghe in a formal Guard Turnout, after he was warmly received by the Overlooking Centre Commandant, and bestowed with a colourful Guard of Honour presented by troops of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers at the Regimental Parade Ground. The event was followed by inviting the retiring Senior Officer with his family to the Office by the Commander Security Forces West and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc.
Farewell formalities were culminated with a convivial tea, arranged at the Regimental Officers' Mess, attended by Senior Officers and Officers of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. During the interaction at the Officers’ Mess, the Colonel Commandant admired the retiring Senior Officer’s valuable contribution to the Army and to the Nation holding varied offices and responsible appointments during his illustrious career and extended best wishes for his retirement.
