The new ‘KIOSK SHOP’ established under the patronage of the Commander Security Forces (West) and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc was declared open at the welfare complex of 1 Field Engineer Regiment on Monday, 26th August 2024 during a brief ceremony.
The Commander Security Forces (West) and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 1 Field Engineer Regiment Major Gayan Somakeerthi USP psc on his arrival. The opening of the outlet remarked by cutting a symbolic ribbon.
The Chief Guest to the event, Major General Lanka Amarapala, being the maiden customer symbolically bought products to warm the shop. Newly opened KIOSK SHOP expanded the welfare facility to all ranks offering military insignias, medals, shoes, civil clothes, perfumery, bags, ornaments, and other quality product with reasonable prices.
The inauguration of this KIOSK SHOP was marked by the esteemed presence of Senior Officers, Staff Officers of the Regimental Centre, Officers, and Other Ranks of 1 Field Engineer Regiment. The KIOSK SHOP provides facilities through welfare for members of the Sapper family and their loved ones and testaments to the well-being of soldiers.
