The Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Forces Inter Regiment “A” Division Volleyball Championship - 2024 saw its final tussle on 21st March 2024 at the Army indoor stadium, Panagoda. The finals were encountered between SAPPERS and SLASC teams. As the final encounter reached its climax amid roaring applause from spectators of both Regimental teams, the audience turned impatient with vigour and enthusiasm.
Finally, SLASC team emerged victorious with the final championship, while SAPPERS team clutch the RUNNERS-UP narrowly missing the championship.
The SAPPERS journey to the finals was marked by thrilling matches and hard-fought victories, demonstrating commendable teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship from the initial rounds to the intense semi-finals and finals, they showcased their prowess on the volleyball court, captivating audience with their skilful plays and manoeuvres.
The Commandant Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General M K Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu and all ranks extended their heartiest congratulations to the victorious and energetic players of the Sappers volleyball team.
