In an eminent ceremony was held at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General C A Wickramasinghe USP USACGSC was felicitated for his recent promotion to the rank of Major General on 22 February 2024.
The event commenced with a Guard Turnout and a commendable Guard of Honour, signifying the respect of Major General C A Wickramasinghe’s achievement and dedication to the military service. Centre Commandant, Brigadier S P G Gamage RWP RSP USP warmly welcomed the newly promoted Major General upon his arrival. The ceremony stretched out with a Guard Turnout at the Main Entrance, followed by a floral tribute to the Fallen War Heroes, a gesture of respect and remembrance.
Major General C A Wickramasinghe USP USACGSC, in accordance with military traditions, took the salute at the Guard of Honour, showcasing the tradition in the military.
The concluding of the felicitation ceremony featured a formal tea at the Officers’ Mess, where the Chief Guest was graciously greeted by Regimental Council Members, Senior Officers, and all Sapper Officers. This event not only marks a significant landmark in Major General Wickramasinghe's career but also highlights the camaraderie and support within the military community.
