VISIT BY THE GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF ENGINEER DIVISION TO THE SRI LANKA SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING

The General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division, Major General DKSK Dolage USP psc made his first formal visit to the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering on 08 January 2024. The GOC was accorded a drive pass and welcomed by the School Commandant Colonel MKV Manoharan USP, on behalf of all officers and other ranks of SLSME.

The Commandant briefed the GOC on the present courses conducted and the future programs to be conducted in 2024. GOC emphasized the importance of revising the syllabus of all courses in order to meet the present requirements. He further emphasized on the importance on launching the out bound training programs. which would be an image building project.

Subsequent to the Commandants briefing, the GOC addressed all ranks at SLSME. In his address the GOC emphasized the importance of training to increase the professionalism of the Corps of Engineers. He further stressed the importance of maintaining discipline of troops to rebuild the image of the Army as a whole in public eye.

GOC joined all ranks for tea at the SLSME NCOs’ club and planted a Mango sapling to mark his visit to SLSME. Subsequent to these events, Maj Gen DKSK Dolage USP psc visited the training areas at SLSME, NVQ Center and Plant Wing at Kachchigala.
