VISIT OF THE CHIEF FIELD ENGINEER OF SRI LANKA ARMY AND THE COLONEL COMMANDANT OF CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS TO 10 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu made his first official visit to 10 Field Engineer Regiment on 29 March 2023 after assuming duties as the 22nd Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.

Firstly, The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers made his first official visit to Humanitarian Demining site at Palaly Army Cantonment is carried out by the SLAWC demining troops under the supervision of 10 Field SLE.

Thereafter, The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Maj MCS Mallawage Lsc SLE and all Ranks of the unit. The event was commenced with the drive pass and followed opening of newly constructed Officers’ Accommodation Block. Later the Commanding Officer briefed operational commitments and administration matters pertaining to the unit.

At the final outset, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops of 10 Field Engineer Regiment. During his speech, the Colonel Commandant emphasized the progress of career advancement and welfare arrangements carried out by the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers to encourage course participation of Officers and ORs. Furthermore, the Colonel Commandant highlighted the importance of financial management with the current economic situation in the country.
