The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu made his first official visit to 11 Field Engineer Regiment at Nawatkuli - Jaffna on 28 March 2023 after assuming duties as the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.
The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was warmly welcomed by the 2IC 11 Fd SLE and all Offrs and ORs of the unit. The event commenced with the drive pass and thereafter 2IC conducted a briefing to the Colonel Commandant regarding operational commitments and the administration matters of the unit.
After that, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops of the unit. During his speech, the Colonel Commandant emphasized the importance of career advancement and new welfare arrangements taken by the RHQ SLE to motivate the participants on their career courses. Furthermore the Colonel Commandant highlighted the importance of money management with the current economic inflation of the country and also advised not to get absent from the Army as Army is taking all the measures to uplift the welfare of the soldiers.
The visit of the Chief Field Engineer and the Colonel Commandant Maj Gen MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu was terminated at 1530 hrs after keeping greetings on visitors’ book at the Officers’ Mess.
