GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF ENGINEER DIVISION PAYS HIS MAIDEN VISIT TO FIELD ENGINEER BRIGADE

The General Offiecer Commanding of Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division Maj Gen A H L G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc made his maiden visit to Headquarters, Field Engineer Brigade at Boo Oya, Vavuniya on 21 December 2022. He was warmly welcomed by the Commander of Field Engineer Brigade, Brigadier D P Jayasinghe RSP.

Major General Lanka Amarapala, on his arrival, reviewed the guard turnout at the entrance of the prestigious Field Engineer Brigade in accordance with military formalities and addressed troops of Field Engineer Brigade, 8 SLE and 162 Wksp Squadron. During his address he emphasized on contribution made by all the officers and other ranks and appreciated all great engineering operations that they have accomplished during the last 34 years. Further, he reiterated the importance of maintaining the highest level of operational readiness in field regiments at all times.

The GOC was invited to plant a sapling in the premises as a symbol of memory and he posed for a group photograph with all Officers of Field Engineer Brigade, 8 SLE and 162 Wksp Squadron. His visit to the Field Engineering Brigade after assuming duties as the General Officer Commanding of Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division, was an inspiration for the troops of Field Engineer Brigade.
