MAJOR GENERAL LANKA AMARAPALA THE COMMANDER – ENGINEER DIVISION’S MAIDEN VISIT TO 4 (V) ENGINEER REGIMENT

Major General Lanka Amarapala, Commander of the Engineer Division, paid his first formal visit to the 111-year-old 4th (V) Engineer Regiment today (12). The visiting commander was received on arrival by the commanding officer of the 4th (V) Engineer Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Sampath Fernando.

Major General Lanka Amarapala, on his arrival, reviewed the guard turnout at the entrance of the prestigious regiment in accordance with military formalities. Following that, the Commander - Engineer Division planted a mango sapling in the 4 (V) SLE premises to commemorate his visit.

After a while, the commanding officer conducted a formal presentation to acquaint the commander of the Engineer Division with the progress of National development projects, infrastructure development, camp security, training, and welfare of the soldiers. Following that, Major General Lanka Amarapala joined for refreshment with the officers and other ranks of the regiment. Thereafter, Major General Lanka Amarapala addressed the all ranks of the 4 (V) SLE. During his address he emphasized on contribution made by former officers and other ranks and appreciated all great engineering works that they have done during the last 111 years.

The formal visit culminated with a camp visit.
