Maj Gen Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu paid his last visit to Engineer Division in the capacity of Colonel Commandant on the invitation of Maj Gen Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc , General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division, prior to his retirement from the Army on 2 nd December 2022 at Mattegoda Home of sappers. He is the first General officer commanding of the Engineer Division and could lay good foundation for the Division for its smooth functioning and to maximize the task effort. Specially, to upgrade the professionalism and standards of the tradesmen which expedited the NVQ training programs and conducted individual evaluation process and introduced SOPs for many fields. Maj Gen Chandana Wijayasundara RSP USP ndu was fortunate enough to become the first Commanding Officer of 11 SLE, First Brigade Commander of Plant Engineer Brigade and First General Officer Commanding of Engineer Division.
