VISIT OF THE COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF THE SRI LANKA ENGINEER REGIMENT TO 8 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

The 20th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Commandant of the Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) Maj Gen IHMNN Herath RSP USP psc made an official visit to the 8 Field Engineer Regiment at Boo Oya on 02 April 2022. The Commanding Officer 8 Field Engineer Regiment Maj A L I W K Athugala RSP USP psc SLE and all officers of the unit welcomed the Colonel Commandant on arrival at the main entrance of RHQ 8 SLE.

Colonel Commandant participated for Commanding Officer briefing which was taken place at CO office and appreciated the contribution and commitment done by the sappers of the unit from the beginning till now. Then he attended for the planting a sapling to signify the day’s importance. Subsequently he took his time to address the troops and advised to uphold the dignity of motto ‘Motherland, Honor and Service’. Then he visited the sappers’ mess and troop accommodation in the camp premises.
