NEWLY COMMISSIONED SAPPER OFFICERS VISIT TO WITNESS THE DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS COMPLEX PROJECT AT AKUREGODA

The Defence Headquarters Complex (DHQC) is a complex of buildings with multifaceted architectural designs and technology, currently under construction at Akuregoda to establish the Sri Lanka Armed Forces headquarters and offices of the Ministry of Defence.

According to the instructions given by Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE), Major General Nishantha Herath, the Regimental Centre - SLE coordinated the Two days visit with the approval of Project Management Unit. The visit was conducted parallel to an Engineer Service Regiment newly commissioned Offficers’ training programme and 11 newly commissioned Sapper Officers took part for the visit on 14 and 15 January 2022.

The overall programme was steered by Construction Management Unit (CMU) and the field visit got underway with the supervision of Brigadier Prashantha Wimalasiri - the Director of CMU.
