COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS MADE OFFICIAL VISIT TO PROJECT FIELD SITES UNDERTAKEN BY 7 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

Major General AN Amarasekara USP ndu, present Colonel Commandant the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army made a field visit to road construction project of the proposed field firing range at Tampitiya – Maha Oya, on 16 July 2021 which is undertaken by 7 Field Engineer Regiment. The progress of the project was discussed with Lt Col JLN Silva RSP SLE the Commanding Officer 7 Field Engineer Regiment and necessary guidance were given with regard to the project. Thereafter he inspected the renovation work of the Hingurakgoda Rajarata Vidyalaya playground and construction of library building which are currently being carried out by the 7 Field Engineer Regiment and 12 (v) Engineer Services Regiment under “Gama Samaga Pilisandarak” program. He also visited the construction works at Royal college Polonnaruwa which is being carried out by the 12(V) Engineer Services Regiment.

Thereafter he made a field visit to the Humanitarian Demining site at Mahawelithenna on 17 July 2021 which is being undertaken by 7 Field Engineer Regiment under Security Forces Headquarters (East). Lt Col JLN Silva RSP SLE the Commanding Officer of 7 Field Engineer Regiment also participated in the visit and Site commander Captain DMSK Dissanayake SLE briefed the current progress and tasks are being carried out to the Seniors Officers.
