NEWLY CONSTRUCTED OVERHEAD BRIDGE HANDED OVER TO THE STUDENTS OF THE BERALAPANATHARA MAHA VIDYALAYA

The Handing over ceremony of a newly constructed overhead bridge at Beralapanathara Maha Vidyalaya at Kotapola, Matara got underway on 18 February 2021.

Upon the direction of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Chief Field Engineer entrusted the construction of Overhead Bridge to 4 (V) Engineer Regiment. The length of the bridge is 19m and the width is 1.5m. Estimated cost of the project was Rs: 21.74 Millon. However 4 (V) SLE troops managed to construct the bridge with Rs: 16.29 Million.

Mr. Nipuna Rnawaka Honorable member parliament and chairmen of District Development committee Matara, Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of Corps of Engineers Major General AN Amarasekara USP ndu, Mr Buddika Diyagama - Assistant secretary, Ministry of Finance, Director plans, GA’s office Matara, AGA Pasgoda, Zonal Education director Kotapola, principle of the Beralapanathara Maha Vidyalaya and the student of the school were attended to the occasion adhering COVID 19 health instructions.
