The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen AN Amarasekara USP ndu paid his initial official visit to the 10 Field Engineer Regiment Myladdi, Kankesanthurai on 15th February 2021 after taking the office of Colonel Commandant few days back. The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was ceremonially welcomed by Commanding Officer Maj WKST Kannangara psc SLE and all officers of 10 Field Engineer Regiment.
To mark this moment monumental, newly constructed main entrance of 10 Field Engineer Regiment was declared open by The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen AN Amarasekara USP ndu on the invitation by Commanding Officer Maj WKST Kannangara psc SLE of 10 Field Engineer Regiment. The days agenda was followed by planting a sapling near unit temple premises and briefing conducted on current operational commitments and unit administration by the commanding officer.
He addressed sappers and emphasized the necessity to work hard while maintaining outstanding discipline, principles and 9 tasks of combat engineers at every time and he appreciated the standard and progression of the unit development. Further, to mark this moment and his initial unit visit the Commanding Officer Maj WKST Kannangara psc SLE presented a special memento to the Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen AN Amarasekara USP ndu on behalf of all ranks of 10 Field Engineer Regiment.
