Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, officially declared its Inter Regiment Athletic Meet 2018 by the Commander Engineer Brigade Brigadier Amith Senevirathne at the Mahinda Rajapakshe International Sport Complex Diyagama on 10 May 2018.
Athletes from each Units took the oath of participation in the Games, adhering to the norms and traditions of the game and maintaining the true sportsmanship. It was followed by the oath of the officials.
Running events, Long jump, High jump, Discus throw and several other events saw the best of more than 500 Athletes competed for the supremacy in the tournament.
The presentation Ceremony and the closing remarks held on 11 May 2018 marking the end for the event. The Chief Field Engineer and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Women Corps Major General Dudley Weeraman graced the occasion as the Chief Guest along with large number of Senior Sapper Officers.
14 CBRN Regiment SLE who marked 120 points clinched the championship and 4 (V) SLE, 1 Field Engineer Regiment emerged the Runners up and Second Runners up respectively.
Sapper Jayathilaka of 14 CBRN Regiment SLE who marked the end within 50.2 seconds at the 400 m running event crowned as the champion in the track event where Sapper Rathnayake of 4 (V) SLE emerged as the champion in the field events marking 183 cm at the high jump.
