CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS PRODUCES THE 22 COMMANDER OF THE ARMY
Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake RWP RSP USP psc appointed as the 22nd Commander of the Army by the HE the President in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces effective from June 27, 2017.
Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake goes in to the history as the fourth sapper officer to earn this prestigious designation who succeeds of another sapper officer, General Crisanthe De Silva who was appointed as the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) after promoting him to the rank of General.
