RETIRING MAJOR GENERAL RP RAJAPATHIRANA RSP USP psc, ACCORDED WITH A PARADE AND FORMAL DINNER AT THE HOME OF SAPPERS
Major General RP Rajapathirana RSP USP psc, popularly known as \"Ranjith\" among their associates, enlisted to the Army on 1st October 1981 as an Officer Cadet and served over 35 years of unblemished service in his illustrious career in the Army. Major General RP Rajapathirana is due to retire from the Sri Lanka Army on 23rd June 2017. During his military carrier, he held number of key appointments in the Army and finally held the appointment of the Judge Advocate General.
Major General RP Rajapathirana RSP USP psc was received by the Centre Commandant, Brigadier IHMNN Herath RSP USP psc at 0900 hrs on 22nd June 2017 at the main entrance. Initially he inspected the guard turn out and tribute to fallen heroes at monument. Thereafter he was accorded with the Guard of Honour at the Parade Square. Number of senior sapper officers, sapper officers and other ranks were participated.
The occasion was marked with a Tea party at the Officers\' Mess where the Chief Guest was greeted by the Colonel Commandant and Security Force Commander (West) Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe RWP RSP Msc ndu psc and all Sapper Officers witnessed the function.
Formal Dinner was hosted to the retiring Major General Ranjith Rajapathirana by the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers and Security Force Commander (West), Major General S Ranasinghe RWP RSP Msc ndu psc and All of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers from 1930 hrs at the Officers\' Mess Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.The occasion was graced byNumber of Senior Sapper Officers and Sapper Officerswith their spouses which brought a glamour to the final event of the day.
