5 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT BEGINS TO CONSTRUCT A NEW SAPPER MESS
The foundation stone - laying ceremony of the proposed new Sapper Mess at 5 Field Engineer Regiment Mattegoda, was held on 26 May 2017 morning amid religious blessings.\r\n\r\nColonel Commandant and Commander Security Forces Headquarters (West) Major General S Ranasinghe RWP RSP MSc ndu psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Major General G D I Karunarathne RSP psc, Brigadier IHMNN Herath RSP USP psc, Colonel AHLG Amarapala RWP RSP psc and most of the Commanding Officers and other ranks attended the occasion.\r\n\r\nChief Guest together with senior officers, officers and other ranks laid the foundation stone amid chanting seth pirith by venerable Buddhist monk.\r\n
