CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS CELEBRATE SINHALA-HINDU NEW YEAR 2017 WITH A FUN-FILLED TRADITIONAL NEW YEAR FESTIVAL AT MATTEGODA.
Festival atmosphere in the country for the Sinhala-Hindu New Year prevailed in the Mattegoda Sapper cricket stadium grounds in 9th April 2017 when Sappers and their families got together to celebrate the occasion by holding a fun filled New Year festival.\r\n\r\nColonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General S Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc took time off his busy schedule to attend the festival as the Chief Guest.\r\n\r\nPresident, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Seva Vanitha Branch Mrs. Iromi Ranasinghe and Members of the Seva Vanitha Branch, Senior Sapper officers, Sapper officers, Other Ranks, civil staff members and families participated at the occasion.\r\n\r\nTraditional games & activities kept everyone involved and cheerful atmosphere prevailed throughout the event.\r\n\r\nAt the end of the festival, Major General S Ranasinghe, Mrs. S Ranasinghe senior members of the Seva Vanitha branch & senior sapper officers gave away gifts for winners.\r\n\r\n
