THE “EX SAHAYOGAYA” - LIVE CHEMICAL WARFARE AGENT TRAINING WAS SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES AT SRI LANKA SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING, EMBILIPITIYA

It was decided to provide guidance and training support on CBRN aspect for Sri Lankan Army from Indian Army as a follow up action of the 7thArmy to ArmyStaff Talks. As a result, mobile CBRN training team from Indian Army arrivedat Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering and conducted first advanced CBRN course from 27 March 2019 to 01 May 2019, furthermore, the second course was conducted from 06 May 2019 to 07 June 2019.

Owing to the current world order, CBRN incidents will be major threats within our country.Hence CBRN is an important subject which is to be given due weight age so as to improve knowledge of Corps of Engineer officers and Other Ranks since they will be one who act as the first responders for such situation within the country. The final exercise of the advanced CBRN course serial no 2 “Ex SAHAYOGAYA” was conducted on 07 June 2019. The exercise conducted in the presence of stakeholders and Officers from security forces to emphasize the importance of first responding task in order to minimize the lethality and casualties in a hazardous situation.

The invitees were welcomed by Commandant of Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering, the CFE together with, Brigadier A N Amarasekara USP ndu, Commander Engr Bde, Brigadier NKLSR Dias RSP, Centre Commandant SLE, Col WASR Wijedasa WWV RSP USP psc,Col Trg(Local)Dte of Trg AHQ and senior officers of Corps of Engineers attended event.

Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council, Marine Environment Protection Authority, 1990 SUWASERUYA Ambulance Service, Navy CBRN Response Team and Special Task Force, Training School Instructors were also attended the event.

The event was organized by SLSME with co-operation with 14 CBRN Response Regiment SLE. Exercise was held at Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering premises with the participation of 14 Officers and 20 Other ranks of CBRN advance Course under guidance of Indian CBRN Mobile Training Team.
