‘HOME FOR TRI-SERVICE VETERANS’ WAS TREATED AND ENTERTAINED CONCURRENTLY TO THE 72ND ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION

In line with the anniversary celebration events, The Seva Vanitha Branch Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers took an initiative for arranging of a special lunch and entertainment session for the members of ‘Home for Tri-Service Veterans – Katana’ on 08 November 2023 concomitantly to the 72nd Anniversary of the Corps. This is the first juncture in the history that launching such kind of event by the Serving Officers and members of Seva Vanitha Branch SLE for this ‘Home for veterans’.

A special luncheon treat was offered to those 22 military veterans who are residing at ‘Home for Tri- Service Veterans’ at Katana. In order to provide entertainment to them a calypso band rent the air with songs sung by those veterans now in their dotage and Undoubtedly, this enjoyable occasion took them back to their distant memories after long time.

This event was held under the auspices of the Commander Security Forces Mullaitivu and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Maj Gen MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu and the President of Seva Vanitha Branch SLE Mrs Shammi Jayawardena. A large number of Sapper Officers and SLE Seva Vanitha Branch members participated for this gracious moment.
