Much-awaited finals of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force Inter Regiment Volleyball Championship - 2019 played at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium. Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers won the ‘A’ division championship and Sri Lanka Armoured Corps became the Runners Up. Commander of the Sri Lanka Army Lieutenant General LHSC Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc graced the occasion as the chief guest and distribute awards to highfliers in the tournament, together with a host of other senior officers and volleyball fans in the Army.
Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) volleyball team and Corps of Sri Lanka Engineer (SLE) volleyball team of the ‘A’ division competed in a neck to neck spirit after they were selected as best teams for the finals. However, after a breath-taking tough game Corps of Sri Lanka Engineer emerged as Champions of the year 2019 and awarded with ‘Best Setter’, ‘Best Player’, ‘Best Server’ and ‘Best Defender’ while Sri Lanka Armoured Corps had to be satisfied as the Runner-Up place.
The conclusion of the day's event reached as the Commander of the Army began awarding medals, trophies and certificates to the winners. A large gathering with numbers of Senior Officers and many other volleyball fans watched the finals with enthusiasm.
