VISIT OF MAJOR GENERAL D K S K DOLAGE USP nps psc TO THE REGIMENTAL CENTRE AND 1 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, conducted a visit to the Regimental Centre and 1 Field Engineer Regiment on Friday, 04th July 2025. The visit reflected his continued commitment to engaging with the troops, operational readiness, and assessing ongoing development across the Corps.

During his visit to the 1 Field Engineer Regiment, the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel D W G I D Somakeerthi USP psc SLE, conducted a comprehensive briefing on the regiment’s operational duties, engineering tasks, ongoing projects, and key aspects of unit administration. The presentation provided valuable insight into the regiment’s current contributions and future plans.

Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant inspected the living conditions and facilities of the Other Ranks. He also examined the progress of infrastructure development and ongoing construction work within the unit premises. His presence and direct engagement underscored his enduring focus on maintaining high standards of troop welfare, discipline, and operational readiness.

The day’s programme culminated with a formal staff briefing conducted by the Regimental Staff Officers at the Regimental Centre. This session covered critical regimental matters, administrative functions, and future development priorities. The open and productive dialogue reflected the professionalism and collaborative spirit of the Corps.

This official visit served as a significant moment for the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, reinforcing its cohesive leadership, progressive vision, and unyielding commitment to excellence at every level.
