The Chief Field Engineer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers Major General MK Jayawardena RSP VSV USP ndu was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 7 Field Engineer Regiment Maj JC Mapatuna RSP SLE, all Officers and Other Ranks.
The visit was commenced by the briefing to the Colonel Commandant on current operational commitment, ongoing plant projects, development of infrastructures and welfare facilities of the unit.
Then the Colonel Commandant addressed the Officers and Other Ranks of 7 Field Engineer Regiment and emphasized the importance of serving as military person in prevailing situation of the country, opportunities open for sappers in United Nations Peace Keeping operations and also mentioned welfare facilities provided to the course participants in local training courses.
