Responding to a request, the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division under the guidance and coordination of the Directorate of Training of the Sri Lanka Army a specially-designed full day training workshop on 'Leadership' was conducted for 127 school prefects of Grade 09 ,10 and 11 on Tuesday (20) at Sappers’ Leisure Bay ,Mattegoda.
With the blessings of the Commander of the Army, it was meant to cultivate and increase their leadership qualities enabling them to face challenges and develop their talents and skills with discipline.
During this leadership programme, students were educated on possible improvement of leadership, social discipline, skill development and the way to challenge the challenges, etc in addition to some practical leadership building activities.
Programme was undergo close supervision of General Officer Commanding Engineer Division, Major General Lanka Amarapala, Colonel General Staff Engineer Division Colonel Pradeep Siriwardena and Commanding Officers of 14 CBRN SLE and 16 Workshop SLE regiments.
The certificate awarding ceremony for the prefects were conducted at the ending of the programme and General Officer Commanding Engineer Division, Major General Lanka Amarapala graced the event as the Chief Guest. Also the principle of the Piliyandala Central College and teachers participated to the event.
