The Army Inter Regiment Squash Championship 2024 was held from 25th September to 07th October 2024 concluded on Monday (07) at the Army Physical Training School Gymnasium – Panagoda and Major General B K G M L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, the Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force graced closing ceremony as the Chief Guest.
The Championship's final day witnessed a vibrant display of team spirits and camaraderie. With an enthusiastic crowd of spectators filling the stands, the players demonstrated a remarkable show of sports prowess in 12 competitive events.
At the conclusion of the tournament, the Sappers players emerged with pride and have claimed following achievements in recognition of their exceptional performances. Their achievements reflected the dedication, talent, and unity of the team. Among the notable players, Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander of Security Forces (West) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, demonstrated his skill both as a leader and sportsman by securing the championship in the Over 50 age category.
