Sappers' Hockey Team, became Runners Up at Inter Club Six Side Hokey Tournament organized by Rajarata University of Sri Lanka (RUSL). The tournament was held on 17th September 2023 at the University Ground, Mihinthale. Sappers Hockey Team played under Division “B” with participation of 18 teams including several Regiment teams of Sri Lanka Army.
Sappers Hockey team and Mastery Hockey Club - Matale were qualified for the finals of Division “B” and after tense final, Mastery Hockey Club won the match by 1 – 0. Director General Army Sports Major General K A W N H Bandaranayke USP graced the award ceremony as the Chief Guest. S/247833 L/Cpl Jayasingha of Sappers' Hockey Team also won the award for the Best Defender in the Division “B” category. At the end of the ceremony, the runners-up team appeared for a photograph with the Chief Guest.
