SAPPERS CELEBRATE SINHALA AND TAMIL NEW YEAR AT THE SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING
The second in the series of New Year festivals organized by the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers in collaboration with the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers was held at Embilipitiya on 21 April 2017. It drew over 500 family members of officers and men of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers who partook of the traditional festivities and games.\r\n\r\nMajor General PMR Bandara WWV USP ndu psc Director General Sports graced the occasion as the Chief Guest together with Mrs Dulani Bandara. The hoisting of the National flag by the Chief Guest Major General PMR Bandara WWV USP ndu psc marked the commencement of the event followed by keeping 2 minutes silence for war heroes. Thereafter range of traditional games followed with great enthusiasm from the children and the adults. Much anticipated Singithi Avurudu Kumariya, Jana Gayana and Baloon Narthanaya pageant was also staged. \r\n\r\nUseful gifts were presented to winners of the events by the Chief Guest, senior officers and members of the Seva Vanitha Branch of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. \r\n
