SAPPER OFFICERS’ TRAINING DAY UNVEILED AT THE REGIMENTAL CENTRE, CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS

Under the guidance of Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, and as per the stipulated instructions of Army Headquarters, Officers Training Day and a Diners Club were successfully hosted on Wednesday, 18th December 2024 at the Regimental Centre, Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.

The day commenced with an invigorating Physical Training Session, setting the tone for a disciplined and energetic programme. This was followed by Drills at the Parade Ground, including Foot and Sword Drills, emphasizing precision and teamwork of Officers.

Informative lecture sessions enriched the day, featuring the 14 CBRNE Regiment SLE's presentation on the Applications of Nuclear Energy, which explored the vast potential of nuclear energy in modern contexts. Additionally, the Directorate of Information Technology introduced the Army Digital Corresponding Platforms, a transformative initiative aligned with the Government’s digitalization concept, emphasizing reduce the paper usage within military establishments and beyond.

The evening was highlighted by a Diners’ Club, Brigadier K V P Dhammika USP ptsc, the Director Defence Cyber Command and Information Warfare Centre – Ministry of Defence, the distinguished guest speaker conducted a timely important lecture session on ‘Evolving Cyber Security landscape in the age of Artificial Intelligence and technological singularity’

This effort not only highlighted the Corps’ steadfast dedication to professional growth and modernization but also reinforced its pivotal role in addressing contemporary challenges with resilience and foresight.
