OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF OF THE SRI LANKA ARMY AND COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF SRI LANKA ENGINEERS TO THE 10 FIELD ENGINEER REGIMENT

The 10 Field Engineer Regiment of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers had the distinct honour of hosting the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, Major General D K S K Dolage USP nps psc, on an official visit to the Regiment at Myliddy on 25 October 2025.

Upon arrival, the visiting dignitary was warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel R R L D Rathnayake USP psc SLE, the Commanding Officer of the 10 Field Engineer Regiment, together with officers and other ranks of the unit. A ceremonial drive-pass, held in accordance with military tradition, set a dignified tone for the proceedings.

Following the formal welcome, the Commanding Officer conducted a comprehensive briefing on the regiment’s operational commitments, administrative functions, welfare initiatives, and ongoing infrastructure development projects under the Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna.

To mark the occasion, a group photograph was taken with the Chief of Staff, officers, and troops of the regiment — capturing a memorable moment of pride and unity.

Thereafter, the Colonel Commandant addressed all ranks, commending their unwavering professionalism, technical expertise, and dedication in fulfilling the operational and engineering responsibilities entrusted to the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers. In his inspiring remarks,Major General D K S K Dolage underscored the importance of discipline, technical mastery, teamwork, and integrity, reminding all sappers of their noble duty in supporting national development and military excellence.

Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant undertook a camp inspection, during which he visited the accommodation areas, administrative facilities, and several ongoing projects. He also engaged in cordial discussions with the troops, inquiring into their welfare and living standards, and offering words of encouragement for their continued commitment.

In keeping with the programme, the Colonel Commandant joined with all ranks for a tea, providing an informal yet engaging setting for professional dialogue and fellowship.

Concluding the visit, Major General D K S K Dolage extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Commanding Officer, officers, and all ranks of the 10 Field Engineer Regiment for their dedicated service, high morale, and steadfast devotion to duty, while urging them to continue upholding the proud traditions and professional ethos of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers.

Also in attendance were Brigadier H K P Karunathilake RSP, Overlooking Commander of the Engineer Division and Commander Field Engineer Brigade, and Colonel R M Subasinghe RSP, Centre Commandant of the Corps of Sri Lanka Engineers, whose distinguished presence added further significance and prestige to the event.
